The last Mass translation had been used since the early 1970s and underwent a complete new translation and update over the last 10 years. Approved by the United States bishops and confirmed by the Vatican, the new translation aims to be more faithful to the Latin original texts and more fully express the scriptural foundation of the Liturgy. On November 27, 2011, the First Sunday of Advent, we began to use the new translation. To help you become familiar with the new translation and deepen your understanding of the Sacred Liturgy, we have made these documents available for you to download and read at home.
